Lourdes De Armas (Senior Trial Attorney at Dolan Law Firm)

Lourdes De Armas

Senior Trial Attorney at Dolan Law Firm

A Senior Trial Attorney and team leader at the Dolan Law Firm, Lourdes De Armas represents plaintiffs in catastrophic personal injury, premises liability, sexual abuse, and wrongful death cases. Lourdes is a member of the Los Angeles chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates (“ABOTA”), where she serves as an Instructor at the Los Angeles ABOTA Jack Daniels Trial School and will serve on the 2020 Executive Committee.

Lourdes’ passion is advocating for her clients in the courtroom. Just in the last couple of years, Lourdes has had multiple trials resulting in several 7 figure jury verdicts. Most notably, Lourdes obtained back to back jury verdicts that were 4x the defendant’s insurance policy with minimal offers going into trial. Dedication to her injured clients and love of the law are what make Lourdes an invaluable member of the team at Dolan Law Firm.

Prior to joining Dolan Law Firm, Lourdes represented clients in a variety of cases from contractual disputes, class actions, amusement park injury, wrongful death litigation, catastrophic personal injury, insurance bad faith, and educational fraud. Most notably, Lourdes represented over 800 inmates of the California Department of Corrections in cases involving inadequate medical care and treatment. She also represented over 22 named plaintiffs and a certified class of former students alleging that the post-secondary school violated the California’s Education Code and consumer protection laws by falsely claiming that school was accredited. The case culminated in a multi-million dollar settlement. Lourdes also represented a client in an amusement park injury case that resulted in a design change in the ride. The case resulted in a confidential settlement.

Lourdes’ work does not end at the courtroom steps. She proudly fights to bring awareness and hopefully change to the issue of sexual assault or harassment by empowering women. She is one of the founding members of the BHBA’s Committee on Empowering Women and serves as an executive member. The Committee was awarded the 2018 Board of Governors Award for the BHBA for their dedication to supporting the professional and personal growth of women through networking, educational programs and mentorship.

Candice Klein (Founding Partner at Chang | Klein LLP)

Candice Klein

Founding Partner at Chang | Klein LLP

Candice Klein is a founding partner of Chang | Klein LLP. She has over 20 years of experience fighting and championing causes for plaintiffs, specializing in wrongful death, catastrophic personal injury, sexual assault and childhood sexual abuse cases. Candice works on every case with an unshakable devotion to help those who have suffered permanent and serious physical or emotional injuries. She understands that these injuries not only affect the victims, but their family members as well. She has recovered millions of dollars in jury verdicts and settlements on behalf of her clients.

Candice knew she wanted to be an attorney since she was 6 years old. Due to circumstances in her own life, she felt the need to help others and to be the voice for those who could not stand up for themselves. Immediately after being sworn in as a new lawyer, she was handed a file and told to go try it. Upon entering the courtroom, Candice knew that she was where she was meant to be, and that first trial solidified her passion for litigation and advocacy. Standing up and speaking for her clients is something that comes naturally because she sees her clients as an extension of her own family. She takes pride in building personal relationships with each one of her clients and their loved ones, and they know that she is someone whom they can trust and confide in during the ups and downs of litigation.

Candice was a trial attorney with Panish Shea & Boyle LLP for seven years, and prior to that, she was a partner at Carpenter, Zuckerman & Rowley LLP, where she exclusively represented injured people. She has tried more than 30 jury trials to verdict and has a proven track record of winning difficult cases.

Having completed UCLA’s esteemed Gross Anatomy Program for Litigators, a science-based program designed to teach enrolled attorneys human anatomy, Candice is particularly effective at explaining her clients’ medical damages to juries. With detailed lectures followed by actual laboratory time dissecting human cadavers, the course materials closely tracked the basic human anatomy class that every first year medical student must pass. She is also a graduate of Gerry Spence’s prestigious Trial Lawyers College at the Ranch in Wyoming, and received her law degree from Southwestern Law School.

Candice has been named a Super Lawyer in Southern California since 2018 and recognized among the Best Lawyers in America in the practice area of Personal Injury Litigation – Plaintiffs. She has served as a speaker at numerous seminars involving civil litigation, from pre-litigation through trial, for entities such as the Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC), the Consumer Attorneys of Los Angeles (CAALA), the San Diego County Bar Association, as well as the Los Angeles County Bar Association.

Currently serving as the Co-Chair of the Women in Law Committee for CAALA, Candice is an active member who is dedicated to women’s and children’s rights. She was recently elected to the CAALA Board of Governors and is a Board Member Emeritus of the Los Angeles Trial Lawyers’ Charities (LATLC), which provides financial assistance to the homeless, hungry, disabled, survivors of abuse, veterans, and children’s education.

His extensive law career has fulfilled that passion by allowing him to be an advocate for the underdog and the underserved. “I always rooted for David versus Goliath. Deborah Chang (Of Counsel at Athea Lawyers)

Deborah Chang

Deborah Chang, one of the founding members of Athea Trial Lawyers, has won record-breaking verdicts and settlements in catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases across the country. As if this wasn’t enough, she’s also a partner at Los Angeles firm Chang | Klein LLP. As a trusted advocate at two powerhouse firms, Deborah has made a name for herself as an attorney capable of fighting complex and high-profile cases.

At Athea Trial Lawyers, Deborah has been involved in some of our most significant trials. As the first legal team to address certain issues, our work has been essential in setting precedents and informing policy. Deborah started her legal career representing plaintiffs and defendants in suits involving products liability, commercial litigation, professional liability securities fraud, and complex torts. She has served counsel at the local and national levels for a variety of large corporations and insurers including AIG and Ford. This experience has contributed to her legal success: With an insider’s knowledge of how insurers analyze and prepare cases, Deborah can help her clients prepare for some of the challenges their claims may face.

Deborah has also sought to develop her experience by participating in jury research and focus group programs. In 2000, she helped create and launch one of the first companies to facilitate online focus groups. Multiple trial lawyers and insurers used the service to test their arguments for prominent cases; the National Law Journal recognized its value as a tool for lawyers. Though she only served as CEO and General Counsel for just over a year, Deborah brings with her the invaluable knowledge gathered from everyday Americans during that time.

Scott Glovsky (Law Offices of Scott Glovsky)

Scott Glovsky

Law Offices of Scott Glovsky

I’ve spent my entire career going toe-to-toe with armies of ruthless corporate attorneys. I’ve learned to go for the throat by being better prepared, better focused, and fully prepared to stand firmly on the fair and just side of every argument.

I know the corporate lawyers I go up against are juggling dozens of cases from angry customers their companies have let down because I started as a corporate attorney. I know the ins and outs of their arguments and I know how to exploit their weaknesses.

As founder and lead attorney of The Law Offices Of Scott Glovsky, I’m not just the face of the firm, I am the primary force behind the firm. I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of California, Berkeley, and earned my law degree at Cornell Law School.

Like most other attorneys, I went to law school with grand dreams of fighting the good fight for the right causes. Then I went to work at large corporate law firms where I was encouraged to defend corporate clients, right or wrong, good or bad on a mind-numbing treadmill that paid exceptionally well and delivered zero levels of personal fulfillment and self-respect.

That’s why you’re here, looking at my somewhat non-threatening picture and wondering if any successful attorney can really be this honest, yet tough enough to handle your case.

Maybe this will help you decide. Read my achievements tab for a few of the things I’ve accomplished while going up against the goliaths of the world.
